BioWare has sent word that gamers taking a break from hitting on Miranda will be able to get the new Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun DLC for free through the Cerberus network within Mass Effect 2. The content should be available for all fans, both on PC and Xbox 360, at 12:00pm Mountain Standard Time.
Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%
M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

Personally, if players have done their 100+ hrs and extra play throughs, and delved into all possible depths of the story i dont think armour is gonna bring them back to a game they have put down. But you never no, at least this is a sign of a future of DLC to come, big or small it may still keep this game running for those insane fans that have already finished it… MB lol
Well the all awaited sequel to the appealing yet quirky take on the RPG franchise is back with its 1st Sequel, Does it deliver the goods to hold up to it predecessor
You return to Rapture; an underwater utopia created in the 40’s. This time its 10 years after the 1st, but you now take on the role as Delta, the original big daddy. As per to Rapture’s renown atmosphere, this place is complicated with deranged personal, Big Sister’s and the watchful eye of Sofia Lamb. Your role is simple though, track down your little sister; Eleanor Lamb and get the hell out there. The story does dip from time to time, but the emotional tethers will keep on toe, with Lamb’s revelations amounting to grave evils, an off putting travel companion and plenty on fan pandering cameos. Regardless the story is strong with choices that will affect the outcome.
The design of the game hasn’t change much from the original, you explore and scavenge derelict environments, rescue little sisters, hack vending machines, and put the drill to anyone that stands in your way, literally. With completing the main objectives that stand in your way. What’s different this time, is that the game is designed in a linear fashion, no back tracking for forgotten sisters and hackables that you missed which kills the illusion of a living, breathing city that first provided.
A few rumours and game play videos may have given off wrong impressions, the all advertised Big Sisters striking at anytime turns out to be scripted and triggered. Also the underwater routings are actually scenic scuba transitions as you wade to the next point. Being a Big Daddy has you swapping your wrench for a fuel powered drill, just remember to re-fuel or it will remain useless. You will still fight other Big Daddy’s have to choice to adopt their little sisters to harvest ADAM for you.
Multiplayer has been added, with a chaotic 5v5 match out with weapons and powers achieved through levelling and ranks, its a nice bonus to play with but you’ll probably be down with it in a few hours and move you to your usual.
There are some truly great moments that pick up the repetition and the end game really picks up and drives the story home. Its disappoint that it picks up as its ending but multiple ending may encourage you to play it again, though this is no Mass Effect 2.
Bioshock is a FPS, with a tactical, slower feel. Accuracy and reflexes will serve you to a point, but weapon management and ammo variations is what will keep you alive. The old NPC return with some added new ones to keep things fresh, with the Big Daddy’s and new Big Sisters you and the ability to change up your approach to combat, this aspect shouldn’t tire. The old plumbing hacking game is gone, replaced with a new real-time challenge that you can attempt whilst in combat, a definite improvement but just be careful not to spam the med kits.
Even if the setting is familiar, Rapture is still deep. Art direction and voice acting stand par with the first, this excellent work make it a place that you can’t help but inhabit even as you try to escape. The hidden rooms show of great architecture that its lacks the variety that the 1st so well provided.
A feeling of “Blockbuster” just doesn’t fit this game as oppose to the 1st, having been built up from the outrageous success of the 1st, it is a bit of a hit and miss. But it might be harsh to stack up against its predecessor. It does have great combat, some truly stand out set pieces and a story you’ll want to see through to the end.
Bioshock is a thinkers FPS and it stands out for this reason.
I’ll late today, and yes not about a game but this was pretty big news
The NFL Super Bowl for 2010, The Saints vs the Colts in a tight neck and neck match till the last quarter.
With two strong teams entering the final game of the season, Saints 13-3 record for 2009 and Colts 14-2, This was looking to be a very good match up. With this being the Saints first ever Super Bowl, they were determined as ever to win and the Colts as determined to stop them.
But the with final score of 31-17, in the Saints favour, the deciding factor being a major intercept of the Colts offensive, forcing the turnover and undeniable touchdown to the Saints, then an added drive for the line (instead of a field goal) to set the scores 23-17
But the game, isn’t as famous as those Super Bowl commercials, tallying up to almost 3 million dollars to pay for an advertisement spot. Doritos and Bud Light being the major runners, with some quirky and funny commercials and then some not so good. But hands down they are some of the weirdest commercials I have ever seen.
Another famed event form the Super Bowl is the Half Time Show, with a performance from The Who. The one part of the event I was looking forward to most of all and slightly disappointed. Old, is the best way to describe the performance, wrong notes here and there, some timing areas and poor song change over’s, not to mention a major lack of punch or power the oomph factor from the band. It was there from time to time, but not consistent enough, whether it was tiredness form their tour or something but they lacked in their performance, though on the positive the vocals where well done.
Overall it was an interesting experience, especially being aired in Australia, an audience that hasn’t got much idea of NFL I did enjoy myself. With a game that actually got me rooting for a team (Saints), some weird and bizarre commercials and a performance, yet lacking did still give that indescribable, adrenalin packed, passionate feeling only live concert can give me.

MAG is one of the new games to come out on the PS3 this year, its a game on its own for PS3 users with an interesting take, brought to by the creator of the SOCOM series
MAG is standard FPS game, set in modern times, the catch with this compared to MW2 or other such shooters is this is purely online, with mind blowing 256 player matches across 3 teams you can choose from, there’s no single player, offline component at all, interesting.
Team selection is a key component as you cannot change you team till level 60 and you can’t create a separate character on a separate PSN account.
Like with MW, you can level up. Levelling allows access to greater battles and responsibilities. For example, you start off in 64 player death matches and as you get experience you are able to gains access to other PNC’s and larger battles, up to 256 players by level 8. Similarly you can’t take on a leadership role till level 15, then gaining more responsibilities as you level from there.
Class selection is different this time round, instead of choosing your class, it is automatically chosen on the behaviour/style of play. However you all get the same skill trees to customise your character. Though wasting points on abilities you’ll never use can be costly so taking into consideration your class is vital in making a promising player.
MAG has 4 distinct modes of play, each having a set number of players, 32, 126, 256 and a set objective to achieve. There are only 3 maps per mode, each owned by one of the teams, so a similar attack and defend component it classed in all game play modes. All levels are slightly rigged to the defending team, which does make sense but can be a hassle with poor team mates. Even with the small number of maps, these maps are gigantic and several play throughs will be required before seeing it all.
MAG’s graphic are a little on the low side, understandable because this is a pure online game. With that comes some poor animation and the occasionally jumpy or floating player but lag is surprising low.
Overall this is a game that is taking a step in a new direction, with emphasis on teamwork to achieve your goals. Fans of MW2 online and really any FPS online games should check out this game, it has a great concept even if it can be a little rough around the edges at times but this may be the next thing in gaming.
Due to release on March 16th, this will be the first major expansion for the game. Available for $29.99 on PC and $39.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Allowing players to start fresh or transfer an existing character to an entirely new area in the world. Your job is to rebuild the Grey Warden order and discover the secrets of the darkspawn and why they still remain.
This expansion still incorporates the choice factor as prominent in the original game, as well as 5 all new characters to recruit into your party and one old favourite from the original.
New location and story requires further levelling, so new spells, abilities talents etc have been added and I’m going to assume the level cap has been raised.
This looks like a promising expansion for the best RPG of 2009, I’m sure I’ll be following this very closely and with the other DLC’s already out, plus rumours of more Dragon Age is in the makings of becoming a game that will always have something else to achieve.
Sonic is set to go back to his 2D roots in the next part of the Sonic saga. Following on from Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 4 will see Sonic return to the 2D world, set after meeting Knuckles. Sonic will be the only playable character in the game, where the world and story is bigger than before. Sonic 4 is due to be released in chapters/episodes, where Episode 1 will be released this summer. It will be available as a downloadable game through Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and WiiWare. The Wii version will naturally make use of the motion control, while the PS3 version will make use of the SIXAXIS controller.
Brand manager Ken Balough had this to say on the episode content:
“I think the best way to view it is as a first part in a much larger adventure. When Sega released Sonic 3, ultimately it was the part 1 of a story that saw its conclusion in Sonic & Knuckles. In that same spirit, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is a bigger story, and this is that first chapter. I think it’s also safe to say that by the end of the episode one, fans will be very excited to see what’s in store for episode two!”
