Well Capcom has done it, after breaking the barrel with its release of SFIV on all platforms; they have done a version for the iphone/ipod. Apparently reports state that Capcom spent “months” refining the controls system to accurately replicate an arcade stick, even though it looks like a basic concept. Also the iPhone version pulls its assets directly from the current-gen code, meaning that in terms of graphics, the game should offer the same character models with minimal colour or detail loss

Unfortunately the only characters confirmed thus far are Ken and Ryu, well really you wouldn’t need to confirm these two, they are like a must same with a lot of the main characters carried from version to version, so expect the usual and hopefully one or two new arrivals.

Lastly, the game will feature multiplayer via Bluetooth atm, further details about internet play have not been released but assume they will be included as this game is a PvP based game. Well to all Street Fighter fans and really anyone that here with a “fixed” iPhone/ iPod should have a look when it arrives, purely on the basis you don’t have to pay for it

Activision and game developer Treyarch are giving iPhone and iPod touch gamers a free sampling of Call of Duty: World at War: ZOMBIES starting today.

Details from Activision and Treyarch:

“The Call of Duty: World at War: ZOMBIES Lite App allows iPhone and iPod touch players to experience three rounds of the “Nacht der Untoten” (Night of the Undead) map in single player, explore the map and access a multitude of weapons from the Mystery Box. Multiplayer fans will be able to play for two rounds via Wi-Fi, locally or across the Internet with four players or two players over Bluetooth.”

Yet another great game and game franchise is making it’s way to the iPhone and iPod Touch. This time around, it’ll be Final Fantasy that adds to the great iPhone/iPod Touch game collection. Square Enix have a page set up, saying that the game will be coming soon to the devices. When soon is however, isn’t known but, hopefully it won’t be too long away. Price information is also unknown at the moment.

An update on Square Enix’s Twitter also says that Final Fantasy II will also be coming to the iPhone/iPod Touch but, again there isn’t any more information on that, like date and pricing.

If you love your retro games and own an iPhone, you’ll be glad to know, the Ultimate Sega Genesis collection of games, will be hitting the App Store. The actual app is free, which includes Space Harrier II. Other titles however, will incur an additional cost. Sonic the Hedgehog is priced at $5.99, Golden Axe at $4.99, where as Ecco the Dolphin and Shining Force, will be $2.99.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has turned up at last on the iTunes app store.

The hit Nintendo DS and Sony PSP title is now available for the iPod Touch and iPhone at a cost of £5.99 in the UK store or $10 in the US store. Your device must be running iPhone OS 3.1.2 firmware or higher to run the game,according to the app store.

Following his father’s murder, Huang Lee has a simple mission: deliver an ancient sword to his Uncle Kenny to ensure his family retains control of the Triad gangs of Liberty City. Huang is a spoiled rich kid who expects everything to run smoothly, but his trip does not go exactly as planned. After being robbed and left to die, he will search for honor, riches and revenge in the most dangerous and morally bankrupt city in the world.

I’ve just synced the game to my iPhone, the PSP version was decent and I’m a huge fan of the GTA series so I grabbed this version as soon as I could.  The game also includes the DS minigames.
