http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2009/11/500x_win7.jpgPoor Microsoft Partner Group Manager Simon Aldous (http://gizmodo.com/tag/simonaldous/). His Microsoft bretheren is calling him uninformed and practically disowning him for the quotes he threw out earlier about Windows 7 basing its UI on the Mac OS (http://gizmodo.com/5402589/microsoft-manager-admits-mac-influence-amidst-other-nonsense).
A post on the Windows Blog entitled " How we really designed the look and feel of Windows 7 (http://gizmodo.com/tag/windows7/)" renounces Simon's quotes with a curt, yet harsh line:

I hate to say this about one of our own, but his comments were inaccurate and uninformed.

Well I hate to say it but it does look suspiciously like OSX as did many previous Windows OS's . But the thing that sticks out is that a lot of the features are OSX related. It's the whole copying thing but again, I would be flattered. There are so many Apple/MS fanboys/girls up in arms over this. I am an Apple fangirl but I love it when someone comes in with a Zune or shows me W7 I say oh yeah my itouch/mac did that before these products came out. :P

I like Windows 7, it's clean and small and runs extremely well on my Netbook. Having the best of both worlds is what it's all about if you ask me and if you didn't, I would tell you that anway :P

Microsoft suck, thats all there is to it.

I like OSX and I like Vista and W7, I just wish MS would drop off the planet generally though :).

besides the fact they banned her 360? They make it so you have to play for every little thing. I mean you can't even get the facebook, lastfm update if you don't have gold or Netflix. Assholes and hell yeah they did copy OsX with vista and 7.

I do like 7 though it's really nice.

It works!! Other than that less resources are required, it's faster, and more stable. The visuals are just about the same and the layout is real close. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a piece of crap comp and it runs faster than my XP Professional on a good PC. The only thing that I need is a better video card but that is not Win 7 fault.

Yeah I think that sucks that you can't get Facebook/Twitter/Last.FM etc unless you have gold but, doesn't surprise me one bit.

I................perhaps didn't use OS X for long enough to see the similarities. All I know is though, I do like Windows 7 and I did like OS X. I didn't really like Vista though :|.

Definitely worth upgrading. I know, Windows 7 runs better on a netbook than XP. And it runs a hell of a lot better than Vista, on everything!
