Wii can’t ‘deliver the cinematic experience’ needed for Modern Warfare 2

In a recent interview (http://www.develop-online.net/news/33183/Infinity-Ward-Wii-cant-deliver-on-our-goals), Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling explained that the Wii’s relatively underpowered innards in comparison to the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 make it impossible to replicate “the cinematic experience” across all platforms.


“If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform. Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it’s not equal then we won’t do it,” said Bowling.


Oh I see how it is. Just because there’s no HD and a whole lot more arm-flailing, it’s not the same? Sigh. It’s actually not the same. He’s right.
At least we’ll have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition on the Wii (http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/JsU-pGWMA074WXctKa6Gdbq3puTAswQI) the same day as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out on all the other systems. It’s probably just as good as the new game, right? Except older and less cinematic? And not as good?

haha, wii owners and there impossible expectation, like something that small culd do wat an xbox, ps3 or pc can do... and sometimes slightly struggle with haha.

The Wii has its great games that can be played within its capabilities perfectly well which plenty of Wii owners seem happy with. I dont think many Wii owners would really expect a game like MW on their Wii, it isnt really a ''wii style'' game anyway and if they would expect a similar gaming experience to the PS3,360 or PC then they're insane anyway lol.

i think they could make a decent cod:mw2 game for it, but it would probably be a rail shooter, and honestly, those get old pretty fast. but I think a solid story mode could have been there, not nearly as cinematic or thrilling as the console counterparts but it wouldnt be too ugly, and might be responsive enough

yeah yeah, like time crisis. i could see that. selling point could be an assult rifle like gun attachment which u'd slot ur controller in lol

Perhaps they'll release it on Wii when MW3 comes out? Lol.

While CoD4 is quite old now, I'd quite like to try the Wii version of it.
And for that matter, the DS edition they've got. CoD4 came out on the DS but, quite crap :o and there's a version of MW2, which probably just as crap, but, would love to try it :).

But, if they can do something for the DS, why not the Wii? I woulda thought the Wii coulda tied the DS and 360/PS3 parts in, perhaps not as good as the 360/PS3 version but, better than the DS version.
