Ubisoft announced today that if you pre-order their upcoming title Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood at GameStop, you will earn yourself an extra multiplayer character.
With the details on the down-low, this new additional character has been granted the name Harlequin, Players of Batman Arkham Asylum will remember the name. That’s all that I no, nothing on special abilities, nothing more on multiplayer side. Just a name, and a possible look for this character. Which personally dosen’t even fit into the world of Assassins Creed, this will be a test for the possible extras in AC3 and also i reckon, that AC3 is going to take a few years to finish so this game is being released to make fans happy.
Let me no what you think

Found this article on gametrailers.com today and, well take a read for yourself.
Kotaku has received an image of a game store placeholder box for the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series and Ubisoft has confirmed that it is real. Dubbed Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the game will feature AC II protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The image reveals many details for the previously unannounced game, including these words from the back of the box:
“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy: Rome. And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style.”
That’s right, the new game includes multiplayer, a franchise first. While this may not be an entirely surprising development, considering the movement in the industry toward including multiplayer in games, it should be interesting to see how this is brought in to the Assassins Creed world. AC II was certainly a game whose single player stood quite well on it’s own, but a multiplayer could be very cool (and very vertical) in 15th Century Italy.
Also included on the box is a release date of Fall 2010 and confirmation that the game will be made for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC (hopefully Ubisoft fixes their ridiculous DRM for the PC version). Viva l’assassino!
Personally i’m a bit worried on how they will organise their multiplayer, but having just finished AC2 I in the assassination vibe and this news has got me even more pumped, specially with a release date the the end of this year!! keep you guys posted

Who doesn’t like a free app?
Ubisoft is giving gamers a chance to check out Assassin’s Creed II Multiplayer on the iPhone for free…if you hurry that is. The app is available gratis through Tuesday March 2nd, thereafter it’ll set you back $2.99. AC2 Multiplayer features gameplay with up to four people via Wi-Fi where the goal is to hunt down and assassinate the other players before they kill you. The game features three environments to stalk through, six power ups to enhance your lethality, and twenty four achievements to brag about.
Personally, this isn’t as crack up to be as it looks, judging by visuals that is. I Haven’t played it and don’t intend to, but fans might as well give it a go whilst its free

Ubisoft has announced the release date for their upcoming Assassin’s Creed II downloadable content, the “Battle of Forli.” From Ubisoft’s Twitter account.
Also anticipated in February 2010 is the “Bonfire of the Vanities” DLC. I have to say it’s nice to see them trying to keep this game in your inventory, unfortunately I traded mine in weeks ago.

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed II has sold 1.6 million copies in its first week of release worldwide.
This number is not surprising due to the critical reception and internet buzz surrounding the November 17th release. If you compare these numbers to the previous Assassin’s Creed game release, Assassin’s Creed II is up 32% in sales.
I played it and finished it and I will be eagerly awaiting the third installment, even though nothing has been said yet.
