The first DLC for Modern Warfare 2 has now hit Xbox Live. The Stimulus Map pack gives you five new maps to play. Well, three are new anyway. Crash and Overgrown from the first Modern Warfare game are included in the pack, along with Salvage, Bailout and Storm.
The map pack costs 1200 points and is available to download for Xbox Live users now. PS3 and PC players of Modern Warfare 2, will have to wait a couple more weeks before the DLC hits those game versions. For those who download, Infinity Ward are offering players double XP this weekend (April 2nd – 4th) while playing.

However you can only play each game once before you have to buy it. You can either use your game tokens (20 are awarded when you launch the game for the first time), or you can buy the game, which also allows you to place it in your arcade. Your arcade has three levels and you can change the theme of each room as well as decorate it, which also awards achievement points. In total Game Room has 1000 achievement points and you can get 80 for just a couple minutes play. The rest however, will require you to purchase items with Microsoft points.
Because it has been launched today, there are a few things which still need working out and tweaking. Currently the server is unavailable to connect to but, Microsoft are aware of these issues and are in the process of fixing them.
Gears of War is now available for download from the Games on Demand from Microsoft. The game is only $19.99 but 6gigs of hard drive eating space. If you haven’t played this game yet grab it, it’s one of the games that changed gaming for me. This game came out in 2006, time flies doesn’t it?
Well here you go my fellow gamers, Electronic Arts has released Dante’s Inferno Demo for us to download. You can search for it on Xbox Live or you can queue it up right from here.
Here are the details on Dante’s Inferno from xbox.com:
“Based on part one of Dante Alighieri’s classic poem “The Divine Comedy”, you play as Dante on his descent through the 9 circles of Hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery, on a mission to rescue the soul of his beloved Beatrice. Armed with Death’s Scythe, Beatrice’s Holy Cross and magic powers, battle large scale beasts and bosses, some of which Dante will be able to fully tame to throw back Hell’s wrath to its minions, all at a fluid, fast-paced 60 frames per second.”
This demo is also available on Playstation 3 for download.
Looks like we win and with Microsoft’s help. After first releasing the 360 Live iPhone app for $1.99 and subsequently being talked to by Microsoft, creator Xavier Larrea has released a free version on the iTunes App Store. As the app now complies with Microsoft’s policy that all Xbox Live apps should be free, 360 Live should be here to stay.
